    • AntiCheat ban policy.

      ANTICHEAT POLICY IMPORTANT

It is important you read and understand the following policy in regards to our anticheat system.

      Upon detection of a Cheat:

      • Automatic ban of 7 days is placed onto the account.

      • When the player tries to login, they will be displayed a message which tells them they are banned and also tells them how long is left until the ban expires.

      • Attempting to bypass the ban in any way will lead to further restrictions.

      • Ban appeals are no longer accepted or possible to make, any threads created to appeal a ban will be deleted.

      • Once the ban length has expired, the system will automatically remove the ban.

      • If the player is caught cheating again, the system will ban the account permanently.

      • We will not provide any information regarding any given ban, remember you broke our rules.

      Note

The anticheat is always active even in solo play / private match. If you wish to cheat in private / solo you can use the launchers LAN mode which disables online functionality and disables the anticheat. The anticheat will be triggered by the following but not limited to injections, external tools and cheats, gsc injectors, rank unlockers, class editors, fov and FPS changer programs etc. All official supported modding is safe including our gsc support.

    • The Plutonium T4 (WAW) Suggestions Thread

      Hello Community!

We are planning to release a Plutonium Mod for World At War - mainly focused on Zombies but if we see MP getting used we will focus on that too. It's aimed release is around Christmas as a gift from Plutonium to our awesome community. The idea is that this is just fan service but if we see it get played, we will add more features that the community would like.

      Current Features:

      • Plutonium Anti-Cheat
      • Plutonium Server Browser (and the serverlist anti abuse protections that come with it) for both MP and ZM.
      • Compatibility with all Steam version mod support including custom maps and content.
      • Dedicated support forums and support discord channel.
      • Forum sections will be created for discussions on modding and custom content.
      • Discord Rich Precence and Game Invite and Joining support.
      • Plutonium Friends List Support.
      • Any known exploits will be patched or removed as soon as we are aware.
      • All DLC is free, this was originally released free on PC whereas on Console you had to buy it. This isn't really a feature, it's just cool to remember this is how it used to be.
      • Allow server owners to replace GSC files without loading an entire mod.
      • Allow server owners to set a dvar which will tell the game to use the players normal stats rather than creating their own new stats for each mod.

We plan to also make it abit more 2020 friendly like we do with T6 and IW5. We do not play the game as much as our community might though, which is why this thread has been created - maybe you know of a feature the game needs or currently has that you want to be sure will still work.

Reply to this thread with any suggestions you have, the more detailed and thought out your suggestion, the more likely staff are to reply and to take it seriously. Please read other people suggestions to avoid repeating suggestions and Thumbs Up any suggestions you want to see that others have already posted.

      Hello everyone!

Today we are extremely happy to announce that we are working with Hitch (https://twitter.com/hitchariide) to host his Charity Black Ops 2 Tournament on the 28th of October.

The tournament itself is the final tournament in a series to raise money for Movember. If you are unaware, Movember is a charity which aims to help with men's mental health and similar causes. https://uk.movember.com/about/foundation

      Players:
Current team captains are confirmed as:

Captains will choose 3 people to play alongside them.

      How is Plutonium helping?
Plutonium is providing our modification to these players to enable them to play these tournaments without risk of hackers breaking into the games or affecting them in any other way - which is what happened when the tournament was originally tried on Steam Black Ops 2. We are hosting the dedicated servers that are required for the tournament matches as well as ensuring they run smoothly.

      Where is the tournament hosted?
Players will be playing from home however the entire event will be streamed from Arlington Esports Stadium (AES) where Hitch will be. AES is the largest Epsorts Stadium in North America. https://esportsstadium.gg/ has more information.

Progress so far and how you can get involved:
Hitch's previous 3 tournaments have already generated $24000 for Suicide Awareness and Mental Health Awareness. You can be involved by watching the tournament and donating at http://tst.live/

    • Plutonium T4 Pre-Release Information Thread

      Hello everyone!

In case you live under a rock, here is the Plutonium T4 Release Trailer. Plutonium T4 releases April 9th, 2021. Keep an eye on our socials listed below for an exact time although we will likely have a countdown on this forum too.

      Youtube Video

      Discord: https://discord.gg/plutonium
      Twitter: https://twitter.com/PlutoniumMod
      YouTube: https://youtube.com/c/PlutoniumProject
      TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@Plutonium.pw

      What is T4?:
T4 is World At War, Treyarch's 4th game.

How do I actually start playing on release day?
Wait for the countdown to hit 0 and then launch Plutonium.exe - it should start to update your Plutonium Mod, although right at release, this may be pretty slow or fail.. it can get busy! Keep an eye out for our official "How to Install Plutonium T4" tutorial thread if you need a full walkthrough.
The pros can just update, click setup on T4 and select their WaW game files folder and then click play.

What version of WaW does Plutonium use?:
Plutonium is only compatible with version 1.7 - Steam automatically downloads this version as it is the latest with all included bug fixes.

      What is included?
We include Multiplayer and Zombies however Co-Op is still in beta and not fully supported. You should be able to grind and level up normally or you can open the console and type unlockall and press enter to reach max rank and prestige and all challenges completed. Letting you jump right into the action, like in all of our other supported games!

      What about the mod support?
This area hasn't been vigorously tested however Plutonium should support everything the normal version supports in terms of mod support. So custom zombies maps, mod downloading, modding tools that work on Steam will work in Plutonium. (As always we suggest doing any such mod creation and testing in LAN mode to disable the anticheat.)

      So, does it have anticheat?
      Of course.

      What about mods changing stats?
We have the ModStats dvar that server owners can set in their config files, this will allow server owners to decide if their mods should use the normal stats and classes or custom ones for that mod.

Can I transfer my classes from Steam?
Yep - keep an eye out for a thread on release day which gives a tutorial for this!

      What's the CO-OP plans?:
We plan to allow for working CO-OP dedicated servers, hopefully with the same level of modding as Zombies! Watch this space and join the discussion in the modding forums and discord channels whilst we are working to get it fully operational!

How to I host a server?
Like all our other supported games, we will have tutorial threads for setting up servers, the process will be much like IW5 and T6.

What do I need to do to be ready for release?:
Most important - You need the actual game files! Plutonium is a mod that sits on top of the actual game, so it's up to you to acquire these. The game files are roughly 8GB in size with all the DLC (which was free on PC on release, did you know that console gamers?), so if you have a slow internet connection, you should download these as soon as possible.

We suggest using Steam to download these files however the game is quite pricey for how old it is. You could also use a CD Key website to lower the cost.

Another method, although may not be legal in your country, so do so at your own risk - is to use a torrent to download the files via peer to peer sharing. Follow the below instructions to get started. The torrent is an exact copy of the latest Steam files, they are not repacked in any way - thus giving the least chance of random crashes by bad repacks.

      1. Create a folder on any drive called Games.

      2. From the windows file explorer navigate to My PC, then to Local Disc (C:) and create a new folder called Games

      3. Download/open your favorite torrent software (qBittorrent is recommended).
        https://www.fosshub.com/qBittorrent.html?dwl=qbittorrent_4.3.1_x64_setup.exe

      4. Download the torrent file: http://dss0.cc/alterwarez/download/pluto_t4_full_game.torrent

      5. Open the torrent file, it will open up your torrent client program and ask you where you'd like to save the game.
SELECT THE GAMES FOLDER AS THE SAVE LOCATION, YOU CREATED IT IN STEP 1

      6. Start the download and wait till the download completes you will know it's done when it 100% and the status changes to Seeding.

Once it's done you will have your copy of the game downloaded, here is an example of a completed base game folder:

      Completed T4 Folder

See you in game on release day!
      Thanks!

    • AntiCheat stats 8th Month

Hello everyone - we've had higher priorities the last few months than getting these Plutonium Stats released however I'll try to keep this monthly. For the purposes of catching up, I will include some references to the last stats thread.

      Stats:
We currently have 497,830 (Last thread was 165,000) registered forum users and 96948 (Last Thread 84000) Discord Members.

Our AntiCheat has banned 16,525 (Last Thread 3565) accounts for cheating in Plutonium IW5 and Plutonium T6.

4,460 (Last Thread 1686) of those accounts were unique hackers with 12,065 (Last Thread 1879) additional accounts created and instantly banned for attempting to bypass / evade their original ban.

On average - 30 unique hackers are banned a day by the AntiCheat. This does not include bans given to people failing to bypass their original ban.

    • [Feature][T6]Player viewable custom camos + emblem + calling card.

Apologies for the not very good title, and even though I'm a Project Admin I hope I can do this, this is a feature I've wanted for a while but nobody has time.

I like seeing screenshots of people's games and seeing their custom camo, it's like seeing an extension of them. So I'd like a feature where players can select a camo for their gun which tells the game (this can either be a fully new camo slot or take an existing slot) and when in use it reads an IWI (this could be in a specific folder on the players computer or uploaded to Plutonium itself) and displays it on the gun. The server then also does this and puts the material on everyone else's gun if it's picked up or shown in a killcam etc.

Working similarly (but I imagine under the hood very differently) to custom emblems in IW5.

Ontop of this, allowing your forum avatar to be used as your custom emblem in T6 would be very cool as well as the calling card.

I'm personally willing to put in $100 via Paypal to see the above in T6 and I welcome anybody else to up the bounty too.

If we can also then have the same in IW5 (so calling card and camo) I'll do another $100. But IW5 can come after. T6 is the priority IMO for this feature.

Sidenote: I've seen discussions on this before and from what I gather, this isn't an easy task, so I imagine if it's only my $100 then this will probably be rejected until later in the year once our other tasks are finished.

    • Plutonium AntiCheat Stats 1st Month

Hello everyone - Plutonium IW5 has been released for 1 month so I thought now would be a good time to show some stats. Just a reminder that we don't expect the anticheat to catch everything, no anticheat can do that and we're a team that do this in our spare time. Bans were wiped a few days after release due to a bug so please note the following stats do not include those bans. Our anticheat is bug free right now and is pretty stable and has proven it's ready to be ported over to T6, so expect updates on that in the future.

      Stats:
We currently have 30000 registered forum users.
16000 unique people have played or atleast started Plutonium IW5.
Our AntiCheat has banned 233 accounts.
Our AntiCheat has banned 103 unique hackers. Which means 130 extra accounts were banned for trying to evade their original ban.
The 130 bans that were handed out for evading were applied before the hackers even managed to start their games, meaning they were unable to ruin other players fair gameplay.

      The Future:
We will continue to improve our anticheat and try to combat any persistent hackers, however we also need to ensure work is progressing on T6 so this is a careful balancing act of priorities.
Of our registered users, 46.67% have not started the game, we would love to see the number of people in game increase, you can help us do this by asking your friends to play and spreading the word. If you start to play and don't find a server you would like to join then please join an empty server and wait roughly 10 minutes and other players should begin to join, it only takes roughly 4 players before everyone starts filling up a server. Thanks for your continued support for the project, we hope you enjoying playing!

@Cigar said in Notification of Plutonium Forum Databreach - September 2021:

Embarrassing to say the least. It took you over a YEAR to acknowledge 1.3 million users data was stolen and most likely sold to the highest bidder.

We became aware 2 days ago and have worked to investigate and notify as soon as possible. Although we do accept that this is unfortunate.

    • Notification of Plutonium Forum Databreach - September 2021

      Hello community,

It is with deep regret that the Plutonium Staff Team need to give notice that in September 2021, data was stolen from our forum. This affected all 1.3 million registered users at the time at the date of the breach. We became aware of this breach on September 20th, 2022, after being alerted that the data is being sold on cybercrime forums.

The stolen data DOES NOT include:

      • Passwords
      • Server keys
      • Hardware information used for Anti-Cheat ban evasion detection
      • Information on any of the 2 million registered users who signed up after September 23rd, 2021

      The stolen data does include:

      • Usernames
      • User IDs
      • Email address history
      • IP addresses used to access the forum
      • Registration dates
      • Last login dates

As such, no server keys or passwords have been reset.

      Our investigation:
Upon being alerted, Plutonium Staff Administrators confirmed the legitimacy of the data in the breach and began investigating the root cause of the breach. This root cause is that a staff members' iCloud account was compromised, this iCloud account had an iPhone backup stored on it and the attacker restored this backup to a phone they controlled. This also restored the staff members' 2-Factor Authentication Secrets which allowed the attacker to generate authentic 2FA codes and thus allowed them to login to our forum as the compromised staff account.

From here the attacker used our forum's API to scrape all registered users' profile data, and due to having access to a staff account, this data included IP address and Email Address history. Hence the stolen data includes more than the public facing profile information.

During the attack in 2021 the Plutonium Staff team did detect the exfiltration of the data, however we mistakenly believed this to be somebody scraping the public information from profiles as we did not realise a staff account was being used. We put mitigations in place to stop the scraping of this information and assumed we had fixed the issue. We did not report this scraping to the community due to our belief that the scraped information was public profile information, such as usernames, registration date and last login dates.

The staff member that was compromised did not report the issue to Plutonium Staff Administrators due to the attacker attempting to access their bank accounts and other sensitive accounts and as such the idea that they may have targeted the staff members' Plutonium account did not occur to them, however they did reset their passwords and re-generate their 2 Factor Authentication secrets.

Passwords and server keys were confirmed to not have been stolen. Server keys are stored in a different database and passwords are stored in a hashed fashion that even Plutonium Forum Administrators cannot access.

      What happens next:
The only thing we can do is to notify you all as soon as possible and offer our most sincere apologies for this situation. We deeply regret that it has happened and hope our community can forgive us. Our entire Staff Team take responsibility for this lapse in what is usually a very robust Security Posture.

We are unable to contact all affected users as we do not have the email abilities to send over 1 million emails, but by posting this message publicly we are hoping that the news will travel to most of them.

We will also be in touch with the appropriate authorities.

All our staff are required to have 2 Factor Authentication enabled on all Plutonium accounts, this has been in place since we started our forums in 2020, however we will now be doing periodic re-generation of 2FA secrets to avoid backed up Authenticator apps from being useful if they fall into the wrong hands.

      Timeline of events:
September 2021: Data is stolen using a compromised staff account and compromised iCloud iPhone backup.
September 2021: Exfiltration of data is spotted by Plutonium Staff and is mistakenly identified as public data, protections to stop the scraping is put in place.
September 20th 2022: Plutonium Staff are notified of a potential breach.
September 21st 2022: Plutonium Staff confirm breach is legit and begin investigation.
September 22nd 2022: Investigation is completed, notification of breach is sent to the community.

      Context of Breach:
As of September 2022, Plutonium has 3 million registered users, this breach affects 1.3 million users who registered before September 24th, 2021. From our understanding there has been 1 year from when the data was originally stolen to when it started to be publicly sold online.

Once again, we would like to apologize for this isolated incident.
