To fix broken audio/locked audio device:
WINEPREFIX=~/.local/share/wineprefixes/cod winetricks faudio xact xaudio2_7 xaudio2_9
I suggest placing the Wineprefix in ~/.local/share/wineprefixes/; Winetricks GUI looks there.
Also for game setup, I create symlinks for each game in ~/.local/share/wineprefixes/cod/drive_c/users/soders/Favorites/ & they conveniently appear in WINE Explorers Quick Access favorites. There's a setting in Winetricks Winecfg to show hidden .dot files, but haven't tested if /.steam/ path is valid.
& only the game setup Wine Explorer has trouble seeing other drives & folders on other drives; so the game has to be installed on the home drive.
