  • "Looking for players" Discussions section on forum
    trymeoutundefined trymeout

I would like to suggest creating a new section on the forum which will have a discussion for each game that is used for players to find other players to play with (especially zombies).

People can make post looking for others to play this custom map in T4 zombies for example, or a person can make a post to organize a zombie game night.

To play private matches with others, you do need to follow each other on the forum to add each other as friends in Plutonium, why not add a section for players to find other players?

  • Setting a password for Coop/Zombie private matches?
    trymeoutundefined trymeout

Is it possible to set a password on Coop/Zombie private matches?

When I set the password field to something in the game setup page before punching in xpartygo in the console, once the map starts up, it will not load and hang on the loading screen.

  • could not send heartbeat to nix! Error was non-success status code 401
    trymeoutundefined trymeout

When I run a dedicated server, in the terninal window, I keep getting this error

"could not send heartbeat to nix! Error was non-success status code 401"

I was not having this issue a few weeks ago. I do have port 28960 forwarded, I am not even running the T4 game client at the same time to occupy port 28960. The firewall setting are set to allow plutonium to allow private and public connections.

Any help will be most appreciated.

  • Can you unregister your Steam copy of the game with Plutonium?
    trymeoutundefined trymeout

I do not have a steam copy of the game and have a disc copy instead. To host a server and have it listed, you need a server key which means you need to verify your steam copy of the game.

My friend has a steam copy of the game and will let me verify it as a copy of the game for my account but will only do this if this can be undone.

If I was to verify my plutonium account with my friends steam copy of waw, could this be undone so my friend could verify his copy of waw down the road with his plutonium account if he wishes to start hosting a server someday?

  • hosting public or private zombie lobbies?
    trymeoutundefined trymeout

T4 does not have lobbies at all.

I cannot start a public match and sit in the lobby, as my game will not be listed in the server list and no one can join until I start the game with xpartygo?

  • hosting public or private zombie lobbies?
    trymeoutundefined trymeout

Is there a way to have it so my "server" is listed in the F10 Server list for anyone to join? Or if this is the case by default, is there a way to not have my "server" listed in the F10 server list? And is this website reliable to see if your server is online and listed on the server list?

Is there a setting to prevent people or allow people from joining a zombie match mid-game?

Is there a way to only allow invited friends to join my lobby?

Is there a way to set a password that is required to join the server?

I did not see any documentation on this. This is not a dedicated server that is always running, just when I play, I would like to host and be able to control weather it is a private game or allow anyone to join.

  • Feature Request: Change port number
    trymeoutundefined trymeout

trymeout said in Feature Request: Change port number:

So if I port forwarded port 22222 and change net_port in the config to 22222, it will display in the F10 network menu as port 0, but port forwarding should work and I can host a private match?

By changing the net_port value in the config to a port nunber that is forwarded does work. When I press F10 it still shows UPnP being disabled and the port nunber being 0.

I would like to suggest a feature request to show the port number (in my case it will show port as 22222 in the F10 Network menu) if the port is open when UPnP is disabled for clarity. Otherwise like myself, one will be confused and have issues troubleshooting their port forwarding setup.

I would also like to suggest a config setting to disable upnp such as disable_upnp which will disable UPnP form being used at all. And in the F10 Menu it will display UPnP as "Fully Disabled" when set to 1. This will enhanced the security since UPnP is not the most secure way to port forward.

Xerxes What is the purpose of the server key? Is it to have your server displayed in the master server list?

JezuzLizard if you could add a disable upnp flag that will be most apprecated, even if it is something like seta disable_upnp. Hopefully if UPnP is disabled and I changed the port number to a port number I forwarded, I then can host private matches.

Is there a way to run a server in a container (docker or podman) and set the container volume to the game folder?

Is it possible to run a server on bare metal linux even if it requires the game and using wine?

And if you choose to run the server with no server key, can anyone join the server outside your local area network?

I did use change the port number in the config file but when I press F10 and go to the network tab, It still shows UPnP is disable with my port number being 0 and not the number I set it to.

Xerxes So let understand this since there seems to be no documentation on this...

in the %localappdata%\Plutonium\storage\t4\players folder you have the plutonium.cfg and the plutonium_mp.cfg config file. All you need to do is add the following values.

    seta net_port "12345"

And this will change the port number used when hosting a private match?

There is not way to change the port number for hosting a private match (Such as a private zombie match). It is fixed on ports 28960-28961. Please have an option to be able to change the port numbers to any other port number of your choosing.
