Call of Duty 4 on Plutonium, Cod4x is poorly implemented.

I was wondering if there is going to be call of duty 4 for plutonium in the future? I have been trying to play both the steam and cod4x call of duty 4s and they are both pretty much dead. Cod4x's website is hilariously bad and not intuitive at all, they don't even have a launcher and most likely it is gate keeping alot of non tech saavy people who just want to click a launcher and play.
Plutonium is great and I hope it keeps growing, the community is awesome, if Cod4 is implemented I have NO PROBLEM with donating a few bucks a month.

Plutonium knows the Devs from Cod4x and is not going to make their own client, but there doesn't need to be another client for Cod4x though. I still play there and still find active players. Be more appreciative of what these Devs have given the community. All for free and the Cod4x team deserves the respect.

On topic: Won't happen, right now there aren't any plans to add another game. I also don't think dividing the playerbase again (steam/cod4x/pluto) would be a good idea, it would prolly end up like WaW.
The thing is, the barrier of entry for cod4x isn't even that high, last time i checked cod4x servers were displayed on the steam cod4 serverlist and if you joined it asked you if you want to automatically install the cod4x client. I think there just aren't many players left on cod4 in general, people have moved on to newer games. -

Dss0 Your probably right, it's a shame, cod4 and waw are my favorites. At least Waw is still going on pluto.
autoimmune You can also give H1 Mod for MWR a try. It actually has way fewer players at the moment, but it comes with really useful QoL features like an "unlockall" and etc.

yea but the servers don't work in 2026 i've tried playing it and its either bugged or the game is too old to run
tried alot of times to play in a server even tho theres still some players for some people it doesn't work somehow

The game runs just fine on Windows 11. People only have issues because they're using the wrong copy of the game. If you own the game on Steam, it will work.

people get it off of steam and maybe they have a low quality PC or they cannot run the game because of some of the scripts or somethingbtw its also Some people not ALL of them so even though yes i am kind of wrong for thinking the servers are down there are still SOME people
if theres a person who cannot run COD4 i recommend alternate launchers or other game clients

people get it off of steam and maybe they have a low quality PCThe game was released on November 6, 2007. It can probably run on a Pentium 4, so I seriously doubt anyone is still using a CPU that old in 2026.
Regarding the Steam version, if you or anyone else downloads the game from a repack, RIP, or any other unofficial source, it's your responsibility to verify that the game files are complete and not corrupted.
The safest option is to buy it on Steam. I know the game is old and arguably overpriced, but that's the reality. Life isn't always fair, and sometimes you just have to deal with it.

I'm going to assume you haven't actually bought any of the Call of Duty games you have on your desktop. Since I've seen all your posts, let me say this:-
Buy the game on Steam, or use a Steam copy from a brother, friend, cousin, or someone else who owns it.

If that's not an option, get a different version of whatever you're using right now, because the one you have is clearly causing the problem.
