Eventually will be supported. Remember they do this in their free time. This is a passion project after all and it's not a full time job for them. Play custom maps on steam in the meantime.

That's pretty unlikely given how awful the game's code is. It was already tried and got abandoned for now but tbh I don't think they will work on it more. I don't have any official info, just my thought
