Can't Join Friends
-
Alright. Cheers, mate!

Dss0 Hey, man. It's me again.
I invited another friend to play with us and he can't join my Custom Game or my server, even though he has both UPnP enabled and ports forwarded.
Any ideas what to do?
-
-AFK- upnp and port forwarding is only required when hosting a game not when joining one, something on his side is blocking the connection or he made a mistake typing in the connect command (or used the wrong ip/port).
Is this friend also on your network or outside? If he's outside have you double checked your port forwarding rules (correct internal ipv4 and port) and is he using your wan ip?
Can he connect to public servers via the serverlist? -
Dss0 No, this friend is on the outside and not on my network at all. I enabled everything you said regarding the Firewall and the rules (I added a New Rule for the 4976 UDP Port as well). What do you mean by correct internal IPv4?
And yes he is using my WAN IP. Plus he can connect to other servers as well.

-AFK- so is this a private match or a server now? Which port does the server run on (console will tell you as soon as you start it)?
Usually routers require you to specify an ip in the port forwarding settings to which the traffic on that port will be forwarded to, that has to be the lan ip of the pc that runs the server (for example 192.168.1.123). -
Dss0 It's a Custom Game. The game is running on port 4976. I even enabled DMZ on my IP and double checked if my IP is the same through cmd.
And I have forwarded both 4976 and 4977 in my router and my NAT Type in game says OPEN.
What to do next?

-AFK- idk. Maybe just use radmin vpn.
-
Dss0 Radmin is a good alternative. But the ping issues though.

you revived a old thread? there issue was there upnp did not work as its a hit or miss on all routers and they also could not port forward so that is why they got recommended to use radmin vpn if they wanted to play with friends it has nothing to be about fixing a issue
