I cannot open the launcher at all. I get the same error everytime I try the steps in https://plutonium.pw/docs/update/#fixing-failed-to-check-for-updates. I tried help

You don't need VPN to fix that error, disable your VPN. That error's covered in https://forum.plutonium.pw/topic/6832/common-launcher-issues-solutions, read it.

HannesC I did with the VPN on and OFF. Help in discord told me to try it with the VPN on.

Whoever told you that doesn't know what he's talking about. You probably still have the torrent seeding on your torrent client. Remove it and run plutonium.exe as admin.
