Dss0 Thanks for the replies, never mind, I'll try again tomorrow. We want a dedicated server precisely because people can connect during the game via the server list, which is not possible in the case of a private match. And we also want to be able to change the map as desired.

Dss0 Hello. Sorry to barge in.

I have tried, and am facing the same issue as Chochrun here is facing.

      1:1

      1. I have port-forwarded, can see my server in the API.
      2. Cannot connect to the server, cannot see it in the server browser.
      3. Guide mentioned connecting via 127.0.0.1:port if self-hosted. No joy either.

Do you really have no idea on how to fix this? For the record, server is called "[EUROPE]Chochrun.eu Zombie Server - EoW".

      Thank you for any help.

YuriTheSadboi T5 does not have a "connect" command so that wouldn't work anyways. If it announces to the master/is visible on the api but not in-game it means udp traffic can't get through to it. This can be caused by:

        • incorrect port forwarding settings
        • firewall/av blocking it
        • cgnat being present

i don't have any other explanation for this, my server works fine.

Dss0 I see... Well, that is very cool that your server works fine, but we are not really using your server. Sorry to be rude, but I get this in gamedev a lot.

Well, thanks for the answer regardless.

          Dss0 Just to make sure.

The port that needs to be port-forwarded, is the port that I set in the .bat file to run the server, right? Are there any other ports to port-forward?

            Dss0

UPDATE: Got it fixed and working now.

Once again, sorry for my rudeness and thanks for the help. I re-did everything. Turns out I chose a port that was allready in use by some other service. Turns out, that is not very good or healthy for your network communication.

            Either way, works now, thanks.

YuriTheSadboi which other service used 28961 tho? another cod server? Yes the port that is set in the batch file (or shows up when you type net_port into the server console) is that one that needs to be forwarded.
Problem is if i can't reproduce something it's very hard to fix it.

Dss0 I completely get you, I work in game-dev so I deal with this on the daily.

Issue was, I chose a port that was allready used by completely different service. It was kinda "lucky", or, well, unlucky guess.

YuriTheSadboi FYI even if you didn't port forward or port forwarded wrong your server would still show up in the API.
The API lists servers using a key. It doesn't list servers accessible from the outside

When I changed the UDP port to something other than 28961, the connection works fine. I'm happy for this community.

                        peybax

                        1. You should change port to something other,
                        2. Check nat-loopback settings in your router (If the server is running on the network where you play)
                        3. Check your profile on this service to see if it is linked to your Steam profile and if you are the owner of the game, in your case: https://forum.plutonium.pw/user/peybax/edit (You need this for permission to create server keys)
                        4. Check if you really have a public IP, not every ISP gives it automatically. For example, you can look in the router, in the settings, which WAN address it has, if it is local or public.
