Alpha Tester Applications Thread

Hello everyone,

We are currently looking to increase the amount of Alpha Testers we have, we are aiming to have enough testers so that whenever we do Alpha Tests, the amount of players we have fills 2 servers to ensure we can test overall stability.

At Plutonium we do two types of testing for new updates.

Alpha Testing - These are very early preview builds of updates to the launcher, IW5 and T6. Crashes are expected and bugs are rampant. This is done by a small number of people who have agreed to be testers and make time to test whenever we need it and are dedicated to testing.

Beta Testing - These are more polished preview builds of updates to the launcher, IW5 and T6. Most bugs have been worked out at this stage and providing the testing session goes well without any major bugs, the update normally goes live soon after. Beta testers are people who have donated $5 or more to the project.

How the application process will work:

Community Member replies to this thread with answers to the questions listed below.
Staff will review replies to this thread once a week.
If Staff feel you will be a good fit for the Alpha Tester role, you will be added to the Tester role on Plutonium's Public Discord as well as the Tester group on this forum.

Things to be aware of before applying:

Alpha Testing is for Testing, you are expected to follow instructions and listen. The sessions are not for normal playing.
As an Alpha Tester, you are expected to attempt to come to testing sessions if they are announced with a reasonable notice. If you are ignoring testing sessions, you will be removed.
You are expected to have an understanding of software troubleshooting and being able to provide detailed bug reports and problem descriptions.
If you've been previously banned by the anticheat you will be automatically rejected.

Please note - you will know if you are accepted based on if you are given the Tester roles, if you are not accepted right away, you may be accepted at a later date. If you are not accepted or don't want to have to follow all the same rules as a tester but would still like to test, becoming a donator is a good way to join in the more polished and relaxed Beta Testing sessions.

(A youtube channel, github, moderate a community, run a clan etc) Used to moderate the In house servers/ discord before azure decided to shut them down but I still host/ moderate servers from time to time, I also do help with beta testing when they do happen

Is there anything else you'd like to say / provide? I would like to be able to contribute more to pluto when it comes to the form of testing as I do enjoy the client and its modding capability's that you have managed to allow vs steam that still has rce and is generally unsafe to still even play.

I've been moderating a few discord servers with around 300-400 members for around 3 years , can setup a server with bots , permissions and etc. with no issues.

I also used to have a YouTube channel with ~250 subs , although it wasn't related to COD, I was still somewhat good at it, sadly , all of the content got deleted due to copyright issues (music).

Is there anything else you'd like to say / provide?

I love the pluto and COD community in general and I'm looking forward to see what's new coming to this platform. I have a decent setup, so I can play with no freezes ,stuttering and FPS drops, sadly , I will not be able to record or stream gameplay , due to my connection and my low-end CPU , however a new PC is coming in a week or two , on which I will he able to record gameplay with smooth FPS and resolution.

Though I'm not that good at PC Call Of Duty, I only only recently switched to PC.

A) I try to trouble shoot any issues I come across that could be on my end before seeking help further down the chain.

A) I have a youtube channel but it is mostly recordings of people banned from our t6 server as well as a Pluto Montage.

A) I helped with the beta testing for ESO as well as Fallout 76 and a few others. Currently i also help with beta releases of steam before they get released. In currently on the list for 3 upcoming games for testing as well, but those still have some time before they are ready for testing. I help with running the V3X clan and am a senior admin there.

My role extended beyond dealing with my subordinates into tech support. Given that my team was located globally, we had a myriad of bugs to identify, try to duplicate in different languages, and communicate to our contact person for each studio. I helped develop detailed steps to replicate issues.

Is there anything else you'd like to say / provide? Beyond the above referenced experience, I have an extensive sales background that has helped me finance my gaming hobby. I've been building computers since 2007 and troubleshooting them since the early 2000's when my mom brought home the worst Compaq computer on the face of the planet. Is there anything else you'd like to say / provide? I have school on weekdays from 8-3, having testing events planned later is appreciated but isn't really a necessity. Depending on the kind of homework I get, I'm pretty sure I can attend most of the time but that's entirely just speculation. I love this project and the work being made on it and I would love to have some sort of contribution towards it, like being alpha tester! I love this incredible client and I hope I can get accepted into testing the amazing things Rektinator and his galactic brain can give to the T6 engine!
