@puddles download the launcher open it and go to settings check that the destination of the game folder is correct also exclude plutonium folder in% localappdata%
Yeah well it's a false positive. Delete %localappdata%/Plutonium, add plutonium.exe to defender's exclusions and launch the updater again.
P.S. If you don't know how to add a program to exclusions, google it.
