It makes 0 sense by Activision to shut down any of the projects, SM2, Xlabs, Plutonium, or anything else. They're just polishing the unpolished games (that are, by the way, unsupported by Activision and/or other parties), getting 0 revenue from that (except for donations).

Same here, been playing for only a couple of days since i bought Bo2 on steam. Tbh i don't really think it would make much of a difference at this point. If game files were distributed, i wouldn't count on an online community to not do it again if i was protecting my IP so even though it would be the right thing to do, i fear it may not change their view on this project. Coming from the smash community, i'm very used to seeing Nintendo doing shit like this and in my experience, all we can do now is take down those links and hope for the best, since this would hardly ensure anything at this point.

was the even english, lol? also, they got served a cease and desist by a multi million if not BILLION dollar company. even if they were in the right, they would be buried under all the lawyer fees throughout the time the lawsuit takes (most likely years). In that time they would still most likely have to cease their work.
