was a map rotation problem when you setup a custom map u need to add the map to the rotation inside the server config file.
to be sure i've even renamed the mod folder as the .ff file inside it

So what was the issue or did it just magically work after the restart?

4 possible causes:
Your missconfigured portforwarding.
Your firewall is blocking it
Your router does not support NAT Loopback
You don't have your own public IPv4 Adress.

Are you hosting on the same machine you're playing on? Your router might not support NAT loopback and hence why you can't see your own server in the serverlist whereas others might (if you did everything else properly, including port forwarding). Get a friend to search your server in the list and see if he can connect to it. You yourself can connect to it via connect localhost:port.

Move the files to your WaW folder, it needs the game files to host a game server 😉
