    I saw something on a post that I had created that playing on the Steam Deck is a bannable offense, I was just wondering as to why?

        Playing on a Steam Deck isn't a bannable offensive, however iiric it will link your account to a HWID of a cheater which then prevents you from playing.

          Exactly what these guys said. It's not that we hate SteamDeck users or anything, It's that somebody on a steam deck decided to try and hack. Steam deck's it turns out have near identical hardware identifiers. So anybody else who tries to use one outside of LAN mode will been seen by the anticheat as having made an alt account to bypass their ban and thus are re-banned.

          Basically - cheaters fault for ruining it for everyone. Valve has some fault too, it's idiotic to release hardware that matches every single other bit of hardware.

          Our warning on your thread was an attempt to avoid people accidentally getting themselves banned.

          Edit: And to answer the inevitable question, no we will no re-write our entire anticheat just so a small section of gamers can use a steamdeck to play Plutonium. It's not an officially supported platform by us.

            @Mr-Android Oh okay, I think I understand now. So basically Steam Decks have the same or similar HWIDs, which in turn, prevents users from playing

                Thanks for the clarification. I played BO2 on the Deck multiplayer about a month ago for about a week or so straight, and after seeing this was worried I would be banned. Would it still be safe to play offline in LAN mode?

                  Friend of mine is able to use Steam Deck on plutonium just fine, but he uses windows 11 OS with latest drivers updated. Perhaps you guys should try it out and you can dual boot the OS

                      ngl it sounds pretty retarded to not use an account based system as opposed to HWID

                        im pretty sure its to prevent cheaters from making alt accounts to evade a ban, but from the way you worded your post, and the fact your account is brand new. ill just assume youre mad about a ban

                          @Mr-Android

                          So you detail exactly why your anti-cheat is broken and bans people falsely, then follow that up with saying you're not going to fix it? Why even join this project if you're going to ignore part of the community because they aren't a big enough player base? Might as well go get a job at Activision if numbers are really all that matter. Fix your anti-cheat.

                            It's a community project for christ sake lmao, be glad it exists at all.

                            Did you even try the suggestion RedxSkull made before throwing a tantrum?
                            Could even try spoofing your own HWIDs; try doing something yourself rather than demand shit.

                              Dude his suggestion is to download an entirely new operating system. And your suggestion is to bypass the ban by spoofing my hardware. What use is the anti-cheat even if one can just bypass it like that anyway? What's stopping the cheater from doing so? There's no reason to defend a broken anti-cheat simply because it doesn't affect you.
