its fixed. apparently you need to launch directly from the exe in appdata. thanks

No don't. If you do that you won't no longer be able to play when a new update drops - which is exactly what plutonium.exe does, looks for updates and downloads them if there's one and then starts the game. Your issue might be AV related, what antivirus do you use?

I use windows defender and have the exe as an exception. If this is the case, could I just launch the updater application whenever there’s a new update?

Probably should, but we don't recommend it. Anyways, try adding exclusions to Pluto - follow this video.

I'm having the same exact issue. I've added exclusion, disabled defender, installed any dependencies such as .NET framework and C++ redis. I've run as admin and with compatibility modes.

Issue happened for me today. I had the downloaded plutonium.exe file from the internet placed in my \AppData\Local\Plutonium folder after I first installed it for personal convenience. I placed that file to another directory and then ran the plutonium.exe file from there and it worked. Maybe new updates cause issues if you put the plutonium.exe file within the launcher's created \AppData\Local\Plutonium directory?
