Problems with excessive CPU consumption using WINE on linuxGuys, for a few days I've been trying to solve problems with excessive cpu consumption using wine on linux debian 10 and ubuntu 20.04.
I think my problem was with the kernel and wine.
I updated the kernel through liquorix and now everything seems to work fine.
I was having problems with kernel version 4.19.0-20, this same kernel on three machines, a ryzen 5800x, 3600x and a xeon e-2286G.
Liquorix appears to use version 5.10, and it also has several performance tuning settings.
Here's a tip for friends, if you have problems, try to update your kernel.
I didn't test it by compiling a new kernel, just with liquorix.
EDIT1: this should work for t6, iw5 and t4

[GUIDE] Host T4 Server on LinuxTizTou Yes pzt#6187
i already know that it is not good.

[GUIDE] Host T4 Server on Linux@tsstbattle I don't have "errors".
The server goes up, people play normal. But since I start the server, it already consumes easy 70% of a CPU core, I use a strong CPU here. I tested it on two - Xeon e-2286 4ghz and Ryzen 3600X, both are easy for a T6, IW5 and T4 server to consume a lot of CPU.
I believe more that it is some lack of optimization of the plutonium-bootstraper-win32.exe for wine. That's normal.
What I also noticed is that as time passes, the server consumes more RAM. That is, I start it and it consumes 580MB, when I go to see it hours later, wine is consuming 1.2GB
I'm running with docker.

[GUIDE] Host T4 Server on LinuxI haven't managed to get it running with linux+docker yet in a good way. Lots of performance issues, memory usage increasing and CPU too high.
-
linux create server ?@tsstbattle How was your server's cpu consumption? and ram? didn't have any problems?
-
linux create server ?Use the same tutorial as T6, it will work. It's the same thing. The difference you use the t4 files. You need to try.

[Guide] [Debian] T6 Server on Linux VPS/Dedicated Server@NomexPlayZ Hey friend,
I will test with this configuration. I'm using docker and a container with only the server on (no players) easily consumes 70% of a CPU core (or 35% of two cores), probably some incompatibility of plutonium-bootstraper-win32.exe with wine, since it was probably written for windows.
I did a test on windows, the server on (without players) hardly consumes more than 5% of cpu.
I'm using a bare metal server with Ryzen 3600X + 500GB NVMe and 32gb ram

linux create server ?uses the same tutorial for mw3 or bo2.

Server on a docker imageByKoan Good morning friend, how are you? Can you solve?
What docker image are you using? -
PlutoT6 Server & WINEi'm just documenting
-
Alternatives to VPSfull machine = bare metal
virtual machine = vps hehereport us the results
-
Alternatives to VPSadam test nfoservers.com.
good ddos protection and great performance.
-
PlutoT6 Server & WINEVZLAxSmoke here at first I have normalized, but I'm still testing.
I simply set 80% two cores from the cpu to the container and used wine start to not show me the console output in the terminal (this easily saved 10~15% of CPU usage).
ie, now I'm using at most 25% of two cores of a CPU. I could use only one core (50%?) yes, but from what I've seen the server is more stable working on two cores. no spikes in cpu usage and lag.
RAM memory also stabilized, before consumption increased gradually and now seems to normalize.

Alternatives to VPSwhich location do you want to host? germany?
