Pluto has it's own servers and infrastructure, it doesn't rely on Activision's at all.

I own the CD version of WaW not steam, anyway I can verify ownership? -
Forum Suggestion: Public User ReportsDec
Get good or play with bots, that’s how games work. There’s a reason why SBMM doesn’t work well and is disliked in many games where it’s implemented. If you have a K/D between 0.4 and 1.0, playing with bots is basically the same as playing against people at your skill level. Either way, it doesn’t matter much, since most servers are run by admins who don’t have much skill and ban people for no real reason.SBMM is hated because of how it's implemented, with CoD for example being super aggressive about it putting you in high ping lobbies and making it easy to cheese by intentionally doing bad in one or two games then being matched with noobs you can easily dominate. Nobody complained about Halo 2 having it.

Forum Suggestion: Public User ReportsDec I don't wanna call it bringing SBMM to Plutonium, but I do like the idea of players being grouped somewhat by skill level.

I bought Black Ops 2 on the Microsoft Store, I can't launch the game on PlutoniumThere's pretty much never a reason to buy anything from the Microsoft Store.

Setting up Plutonium on the Steam Deck (and Linux) (LAN only)Updating launcher directly
Adding a Game and a Mode
Adding the exe and bootstrapper to steam doesn't work for me, nothing wants to launch.
BUT opening lutris and adding the game to the aplication menu and then adding that to steam worked.
The only way for me to get LAN shortucts was to use the proton method on the later half of this guide, WaW works flawless, BO2 too but loading fast file mods crashes the game (even tho it didn't on my first time??), and black ops 1 doesn't even wanna start.I can launch all the games via the pluto shortcut I made with the Proton method but the performance for bo1 sucks so I suggest sticking to the Lutris method for everyone else, it's easy to setup and it all works.
Hey Tendan_F were you ever able to get BO1 to launch offline? I am also having the same issue via Proton with offline mode.
Offline doesn't work with Plutonium, even on Windows. You can use this offline launcher, I've never used it on Linux but it should work.

PlutoniumX Auto Game LauncherBro you don't even know how to use git, your vibe coded UI is pointless because it doesn't add anything, it doesn't even look nice, and all your posts read like you scam senior citizens for a living.
-
PlutoniumX Auto Game LauncherA closed source UI that doesn't add anything? Sounds like using this is just asking for malware.
Just use the basic cli commands plutonium supports to make game shortcuts if that's what you want. No reason to use this. -
Use launcher with a controller only??You can launch individual games through batch scripts and load those through steam or something like playnite. Or if you just want to control the mouse get a DS4 and use the trackpad.

MW3 microsoft storeThere's no reason to buy anything from the microsoft store ever tbh.

Guns are invisible in the mystery box.Didn't realize there was a fix for this. The pluto devs should officially implement this so it can work online, I'd consider this an "essential" fix.
-
Rebooting the idea for Black Ops 3?@Peggster The devs have already said multiple times they don't want to, and all the clients you already mentioned support BO3 and work well. Just use one of those.

Why is MW2 missing?bb4evr Adding maps/weapons from MW3 and making balancing changes like removing painkiller only make it a better game tbh.
-
Why is MW2 missing? Not to mention HMW, which isn't exactly vanilla but still a great way to play.
-
Offline Launcher for plutoniumI don't know how I missed this, but it's just what I needed! Real shame Pluto just doesn't have an offline mode.
-
Controller Aim Assistixori I've played both on controller, so yes I'm positive.
-
Controller Aim AssistPlutonium already adds aim assist to WaW and BO1. There's a wiki page but it needs to be updated https://plutonium.pw/docs/aim-assist/

Audio Sounds TerribleG0LD3N 4RM said in Audio Sounds Terrible:
I'm gonna be honest I personally believe the audios were always like this, it'd just be harder to hear the compressed sounds if you were playing on TV. I noticed this audio at first when I played on Steam for the first time on headphones back in 2021 and yeah I can say for sure it did not sound too great

I think you're right. I looked up some gameplay from the PS3 port and the dialogue sounds pretty bad there too (although maybe marginally better? I'm only comparing youtube videos so it's hard to say for sure).

How do I connect my PS4 controller to Plutonium?Does it work with other games expecting x-input, or is it just plutonium having issues?

Make plutonium open sourceDirkRockface said in Make plutonium open source:
DrSkum88 That's a bad argument for keeping any project open source... do you know how expensive "taking legal action" would be? Especially for a free project that does not make any money (other than a few donations to help keep the services running). And you would be taking legal action against someone likely to have NO money, thus making it not worth it financially.
And, by the time all that got settled out in the courts (assuming anyone would take the case for a border line not-legal product anyway) there would be tons of clones and copies of it out there. You see this all the time with indie style projects that are a lot of work, but not big enough to make the news when someone "steals" it. If people are concerned about plutonium being a virus (or a bitcoin miner) then they can just not install it... piece of cake!
If the devs wanted help forks by open sourcing it, then they would. for now, let them keep their trusted dev base working on it and the rest of us can enjoy using a free app that enables some cool features and abilities and scrapes a few Social Security Numbers every now and then! Fair trade if you ask me!

You're straw-manning my argument by focusing on the most irrelevant part. Not even going to mention mention that the FSF will step in and help in the case of a GPL violation because it honestly doesn't matter. There are countless FOSS projects out there (several of which I've had personal involvement in) that prove this is a non-issue. Frankly, there is no good argument for why any piece of software should be proprietary.
