just use a dedicated server with password and / or whitelist mod

• Use DS4Windows

• Install the first driver when it prompt you to do so

• When installed and your ocntroller is detected, edit the current profile

• go to other and in there, make sure an Xbox controller is emulated

• finally, enable controllers ingame

It seem that some textures don't load when launching the game to play on servers.
With gijoebo, we figured that it doesn't happen when playing in LAN.

I wasn't able to check if it happen on a LAN server since i wasn't able to connect to it since the last fix happened (invalid session id in console on join (connect localhost:28961)).

Note: i'm playing on a PS4 Controller

This install is based on the steam version with DLC obtained via the provided means in the doc.

I also tried the full game one, same result.

For every installs, i have verified my install using the full game torrent and dlc.
Result: all files are valid and checksums match.

Finally, no mods have been installed.

I need to run a dedicated server on Lan since the network i mostly use ban any use of the UDP protocol.
(which prevent me from going online ingame)
(i can send UDP packets on my to my own machine of course (localhost))

i tried adding -lan in a copy of the batch script provided by the documentation, but it seem like it's causing issues:

• First of all, whenever i join the server, i can successfully go ingame but i'll be stuck on a screen saying Downloading game settings

• i Cannot move or do anything while this menu is present, the game is still active in the background and zombies can kill me

• I can disconnect from the server, but if i do so, i'll be back to the online menu (just after the main menu, it probably has a name but unaware) with 1FPS, then i'll be sent to various menu until it send me back to the main menu again.

• My framerate will stay at 1 FPS until i restart the game

So in the end, i was wondering how i can run a dedicated server on lan without having these issues.
