  • NexusCore - A Send Off & Love Letter To Plutonium
    LeonLionHeartundefined LeonLionHeart

    Where to begin?

I met Chase, which is now a Plutonium staff member, way back a year and a half ago. Great guy, very smart, and eager to learn. I soon realized I had a lot to learn from him as well. So, we started working together. After trial & error with catchy names, and a few AI Zombies later... We landed on NexusCore.

After months of working together, our community exploded with traffic. Mainly known for our NukeJacked & Zombie servers in T6, it was nonetheless a great time. We still carried our operations in XLABS a bit and still kept a few servers across IW4X & S1x respectively.

I have to say... It's been an honor dealing with the Plutonium staff. They are incredibly smart people and expect you to put in the effort in finding a problem before they give you the ultimate solution. Software will never be perfect, and for the Plutonium staff, I don't believe any of the clients will ever be finished for them.

"Perfect is the enemy of the good" - Voltaire | It's never about Plutonium being perfect. It's about Plutonium being the best it can be in the time it is given.

NexusCore ultimately shut down due to a lack of funding. Servers cost money & manpower to keep them running smoothly. As the leader of NexusCore, I never begged for donations. The goal for NexusCore was just to provide a community service with a great group of admins & community leaders around us.

For me, I enjoyed working in NexusCore because it gave me the opportunity to explore & expand my education in the IT world. You learn a whole lot when building out massive production environments. Soft skills taken from NexusCore will allow me to further my skillsets in my career going forward. I encourage anyone to start in a place like Plutonium as it's where I started my IT journey 12 years ago with a former MW2 client.

I want to end by saying, I appreciate all of you! The Plutonium community is most certainly not dead. It surprises me to this day how many new people, especially the younger audience, are still so involved with these clients.

To Plutonium & the staff, thank you for the opportunity and knowledge sets given to us over the years at NexusCore. You have been tentative, informal, and caring to all our needs. THANK YOU!

                                                                       LeonLionHeart

  • Disable Boosting My Mic To 100%

    VirtualPinx

At the end of the day, it's Steam causing the issue. Steam loves to give itself exclusive rights to your Windows mic settings. Pretty annoying. Do what the others have mentioned.

I want to add to this too. As I've learned in the enterprise world, Webroot is the most shittiest AV out there. Also, I've learned you can never truly disable it. It's really garbage.

  • What was the first cod game you ever played?

Bringing back memories for me here... Phew... I'm old...

My first Call of Duty was Call of Duty 2 on PC. This was actually only shortly after Medal of Honor: Allied Assault which was the first video game I ever played on a PC.

Before that, I played a lot of Pokemon on my Gameboy Color w/ the light attachment.

Since we are chasing this network idea. I noticed in your screenshots you have a bunch of school assignments and stuff bookmarked. Are you in school? Or on a campus? I also noticed you are on WiFi. If so, most campus networks have firewalls that can prevent traffic like the Plutonium launcher.

Fun fact, I couldn't pull files from Piry on my work network when Piry was a thing. We use Sonicwall.

So are you in a school or stationed on a campus? If possible as well, do you have a hotspot you could try on your phone?

  • I was banned from NexusCore NukeJacked for being too good
    LeonLionHeartundefined LeonLionHeart

    Hi RyukoProp

You may submit a ban repeal on our Discord server. https://nexuscore.us/discord

From there, you can create a ticket. Please be aware that most servers that run IW4M Admin have server-side anti-cheat turned on. If you are banned from a server but able to connect to other servers then you are not client banned. You would just be banned from that particular server.

We apologize as there is no way to display a way to appeal the ban. We have requested this feature from the creators of IW4M Admin and we are on their time.

We'll await your ticket if you choose to submit an appeal.

  • Cant open Server Browser with F10
    LeonLionHeartundefined LeonLionHeart

TheKingArman Assuming you're on a laptop. Some laptops do not support native function keys as they are assigned to other functions that are used in Windows. You can use the Home key or alternatively there should be a key on your keyboard called Fn. Press Fn+F10 and the server list should come up.

  • Failed to Download file bin/AppCore.dll

Do you have the rights to write to your (C:) drive for your profile on Windows? Your error is

    System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access Denied to Path

This means either you do not have administrative rights to write to the path listed in the error or something (most likely another application) is preventing it to write to that path.

If you do not have an AV on Windows 10, Windows Defender is on by default. This is most likely the issue as when Plutonium launcher attempts to xcopy to your %localappdata% Windows Defender is preventing it from writing to it as it believes the file is malicious. You'll need to create an exception in Windows Defender to exclude %localappdata% in order for it to stop deleting the file the Plutonium launcher is trying to install.

  • will there ever be a mac verson?
    LeonLionHeartundefined LeonLionHeart

@Novalis there will most likely never be an "executable" (aka .app) made for MacOS. However, there are still some options you could look into. Depending on the age of the Macbook, you could run Windows on Bootcamp. Bootcamp allows you to run Windows on a Macbook pre-2020 (not on the Macbook M1 chip version). I'd suggest looking up videos or read official documentation so you have an idea of what that would look like. Windows will allow you to run (x86) applications and utilize DirectX. Keep in mind, may experience a lot of lag on integrated graphics from a Macbook.

Altertivenately you could invest time in learning Wine. It's way more advanced but would possibly allow you to play Plutonium on MacOS. Just keep in mind, MacOS Catalina only runs in (x64) mode and does not support (x86) applications (which Plutonium is).

  • Odd Issue With Logging - Running Plutonium IW5 As A Service
    LeonLionHeartundefined LeonLionHeart

Anyone else use FireDaemon Pro? I have an odd one here. So, I got everything working as service with T6 and even IW5. Basically, I got Plutonium to run off the bootstrapper executable as a service. The only weird thing about this is on IW5 for whatever reason logging just doesn't work even though it's booting from the cfg file correctly. Almost like it just outright ignores set g_log "directory" yet everything else works, for example, player count, name of the server, ect...

The funny thing is, when you create the FireDaemon service to run off the batch file it works just fine. No logging issues. Same with running the server straight off the bat file.

Any ideas? Anyone else run it like this?

  • Would You Guys Want A Video Tutorial?
    LeonLionHeartundefined LeonLionHeart

So, just as the title reads, would you guys want a detailed creating a server video tutorial? I have made a lot of tutorials in my days regarding these type of projects and they always seem to do well and people leave the video feeling like they were able to replicate what I instructed.

In conclusion, I don't want to waste my time for a webinar type tutorial if it's not needed. Do you guys feel more comfortable with the written out method or would you guys like a more detailed tutorial in video form?
