yes I've been using reshade since the new anticheat update without issue any issues whatsoever so far.

@HardtoKill75 okay, well then the only other things you can try is delete plutonium, rename plutonium.new.exe to plutonium and launch that.

If that doesn't work, I guess you could also try upgrading to windows 10, as that is the supported version of windows for this.

I had this issue too. When I checked the game folder, there was a plutonium.exe, and plutonium.new.exe in there. I deleted plutonium.new.exe, and launched plutonium again. it finished the update and opened. I should mention that was when updating from 877 to 883, but check anyway. worth a shot.

broken168 thanks for sharing this script, could definitely come in handy when playing with younger siblings or people who don't game much. Especially Jugg. I know easy mode already exists but I'd also prefer when playing with such people to not have to restart on round 3 all the time or something.

If that shortcut doesn't work, though I'm sure it will (and also for other keyboards without F10) you can also try autohotkey to make custom keyboard shortcuts. I also hear MS has a new program in powertoys that also allows you to make custom keyboard shortcuts, but easier. Could be a great solution.

that's a permission issue. where is your game folder located? Recommended location is C:\games to avoid issues, but you can place it anywhere as long as you have the correct permissions set.

I suggest try either moving the game to the recommended location, or run takeownership on the game folder in its current location

RicardoX072 have you tried specifically "connect localhost:4977"? that's what I use to connect to my own server, and it not only does it work but since it doesn't route the data to your external ip it actually reduces your ping. Dunno that its the same for custom games, but try it if you haven't already

Supported or not, it does work. Place your reshade files in appdata\local\plutonium\bin.
I personally use it just to boost the saturation on my monitor, and to add film grain. I'm 99% sure depth effects wont work however, so no RTGI or MXAO.

Allow me to share what I found, and why I'm doing this.

So first off, the reason for this is simply to reduce number of clicks to get in game, nothing more. Its not that its bothersome, just some people prefer a 1 click solution. It is a nice feature that the launcher auto updates/verifies the game files, but I feel like that could be handled in the background on launch anyway, before the client starts. Maybe that wouldn't work here, but that's how I personally would prefer it to behave.

Now looking into the code, I see that its set up much like a website, with html, css, and js files, which I can somewhat comprehend. I see the launcher passes variables to the bootstrapper, and somewhere along the chain it submits this info to your nix systems for authentication. hard to say, since they are obfuscated well enough to prevent me from knowing exactly what's what.

creating a bat file which points to the bootstrapper, will tell you no app is specified. Passing the parameter /t6 zombies (my mode of choice here) allows it to progress to the authentication step. This is the part where I don't fully understand the syntax required to pass, but essentially it tries to authenticate, fails with error 401, and exits.

This leads me to believe that this would be possible, but I don't think I could figure out how to do it myself.

On an unrelated note, I was successful at launching the client after the server on the same computer, and it has not triggered a ban, thankfully. This was more important to me than the shortcut anyway.

Its possible they've removed support for steam controllers, seems a lot of features have been stripped out. I would kind of liken it to the opera browser when they switched over to chromium, took them a while to add all the important stuff back in.

that said, have you tried adding the bootstrapper to the list of non steam games? they're under C:\users\username\appdata\local\plutonium

If that works let me know! I have a friend who's switch controller won't work anymore and if this works I'll want to let him know he doesn't have to spend on a new controller

TooL4G6Y That sucks. What location did you put the black ops 2 folder? maybe its running into a permissions issue? mine is under program files (x86), and I used takeownsership.reg to grant access for my user account in windows.

As far as I can tell, the launcher is looking for whichever is the next file for it to load in, but can't find it or access it

Right, but the launcher launches the game by executing (Im assuming) first the code for authentication and anti-cheat, then the bootstrapper, then t6zm, no?

In any case, its not a big deal, but my question is will I get banned for attempting? Because if that's the case, I just wont.

Quick question. I wanted to make a direct shortcut to the zombies mode, and I had the idea to use a bat file with an icon for myself. No idea if its even possible, but I wanted to try.

Would this cause some sort of issue if I mess up? I don't want to get banned for something like making a shortcut, so I thought I'd ask before doing anything.

however it doesn't solve the issue from OP, that will need to be handled by the devs. hopefully soon, but it sounds like its not a priority, which makes it impossible unfortunately to join mid game without booting everyone from the round.

I suspect this has to do with the new anti cheat system, so they can tie an ip to an account, which, fair enough.

this is kinda dumb but if you run a copy of the game in a vm with a super powerful pc, its doable. I did it once, but my pc wasn't powerful enough at the time, so I abandoned that idea. If you've got a 10900k and 2080 ti, and gaming at 1080p it should work
