You can't run the client in a VM so that won't be possible. Only servers can be run in VMs.

I am dealing with same issue like I want to link but my account says it's linked to a account already but I never linked it admins here's my steam ID 1080823673

Unpinning the launcher from my task bar, then opening it fixed the issue for me. Having it pinned wasn't allowing it to update itself.

Thank you, I copy it and paste it to the folder but when I press select drive it is not there it shows up for a split second and goes away and if I pull up the folder outside plutonium it is there.
