0xc000007b error
-
When I factory reset my laptop, I reinstalled the plutonium launcher since I had bo2 files on another hard drive but when I try launching it, it freezes on "Fetching update info..." and then a few seconds later it gives me an error saying "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b) Click OK to close the application." I have done everything on this page: https://forum.plutonium.pw/topic/6832/common-launcher-issues-solutions like reinstalling all directx stuff, all redist stuff, and the aio runtimes program. My laptop is definitely meeting the system requirements since I've played plutonium bo2 before and had 50 to 70 fps no issue.
I don't know what reshade is but it said its no longer supported, but I've literally reinstalled the launcher by deleting the localappdata folder called plutonium and installed the plutonium.exe from the website. Can I get any help? -
wich windows?

Where did you download bo2 from and what antivirus do you have? AVs might be deleting the bootstrapper, try adding Plutonium to exclusions https://plutonium.pw/docs/antivirus/
-
HannesC I downloaded it from the torrent file on the website I think the file is called pluto_t6 or something
-
IKennyAgain windows 10
-
HannesC I also use malwarebytes and the windows defender.

-
HannesC it didnt work. I added exclusions for the launcher and it didnt work.
-
Screenshot exclusion settings.

HannesC https://pasteboard.co/dJGfbEeGTcvV.png this is the image i took, i basically fully allowed every single plutonium file and the location of the files.
-
I got some files from my friend and replace my files with them and it still doesnt work.
-
Styx I litteraly have the same issue as you and i watched 20 Youtube videos and done all the solutions and its still doesnt work and freezes
-
97 Gojo yeah I'm not sure what to do I still dont have a fix
-
Do you pirate other games often? Some shit repack could've messed with your system files, try opening cmd as admin and typing this:
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Once it's done, restart your PC. If it still doesn't work, I'm outta ideas.
Edit: On another note, go to %localappdata%/Plutonium/bin, what's the size of the bootstrapper? If it's 0KB, then MB isn't respecting user's exclusions and you might have to uninstall that AV.
-
HannesC the bootstrapper has a size of 11.295kb and i yesterday already typed this comman d in the cmd and also installed the aio everything but its still doesnt work and this all after i reset my pc first when i got my pc 1 year ago it worked perfectly but now idk :c
-
HannesC nah I dont pirate games. The bootstrapper and launcher are both not 0kb.
I guess it's just my laptop messed up. -
97 Gojo go to this link and download the x86 version of the thing. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads I was trying to fix PS remote play not opening and wondered if this would fix it and it did.
