Also: I launched some servers without the *.sdm files (except for 0.sdm) and tested it in-game (normal and DLC maps) and everything was fine.
So you can get rid of them as they aren't needed/used.

Like with the PlutoT6 server set-up guide (by Xerxes), it included the Deleting unneeded files-part if you only wanted to host servers, and not for playing it.
I am not an expert with IW5 (and I'm definitely not the only one), but I know that others would also appreciate having a similiar guide/tutorial for IW5 too. ^^

Although, I'd recommend to change the link you've provided in your first message to the one you've posted above (so others can see the correct one immediately).
My suggestion to solve this (for now), try restarting your game - that should fix it, as I assume it's just a small visual issue.

When you type disconnect in the console it is supposed to take you back to the main menu.
