Are you certain it freezes your entire PC? Sometimes the launcher freezes for about 10 seconds as windows defender scans the files.

VivaLaReapz This happens infrequently to me and if left clicking doesn't do it I tend to Control + Alt + Delete and select task manager and this seems to kick it into life.

You shouldn't have to, you could try clearing your internet cache though. Most people with this problem have it resolved now.
