I had this problem recently after changing some nvidia control panel settings. Sometimes i would get into a lobby then downloading game settings would come up and just stay there. I fixed it by downloading latest driver and choosing a clean install. Worked fine after that

There's no harm in doing that. Majority of the servers use a third party server administration tool that disallows VPNs, but you should be fine as long as you use it only to get into the main menu, then disable the VPN after that.

Well usually when there's a black screen, you should be able to alt tab out and see if there's any errors displayed on the BO2 console? If there is, please screenshot it. If you followed our official guide and grabbed the torrent we link there, its highly unlikely that your files are missing/corrupted. Try right clicking torrent -> force recheck.

@l1baniti Download a torrent client of your choice (qbittorrent recommended). Then download this https://dss0.cc/alterwarez/download/pluto_t6_full_game.torrent. Point this download to your BO2 folder, deselect "create subfolder" and let it run. This should verify and skip over whatever you have and only download corrupted/missing files.

Is there a specific error or just the generic "Oops plutonium ran into some problem" error? Might be corrupted basegame, you did use the torrent we link on the official guide right?

If the host has UPnP enabled, you don't have to go through port forwarding and stuff. Have you taken a look into this guide?

@Cyrano But which AV though? Some AVs don't disable themselves completely even after disabling them manually. So if you're using some trash AV like McAfee, Avast, etc I'd suggest uninstalling them.

@Sixhs repair your game using the following instructions: download the torrent file and open it in the torrent client of your choice https://dss0.cc/alterwarez/download/pluto_t6_full_game.torrent as download location select your bo2 game folder deselect "create subfolder/keep top level folder" (very important) start the download

Try different sensivity, find yours. Work out on aimlab, play against bot.

If you have the fn button, try fn + f10.
