Black Ops 2 Zombies Reimagined
-
Hey there! I was wondering a few things
- Could you make it so the galven knuckles power perk machines temporarily when they're meleed,
- Could you add support (idk if it's possible) to packapunch the Bowie knife & the Galven knuckles?
Thankyou! I love the mod
-
CircuitWP No and no.
-
Is it possible? or is it just not an idea you'd like to add?

Hey Jbleezy,
I'm relatively new to Plutonium BO2 modding so forgive my ignorance. I've found a few mods such as single player EE's and [mystery box] + [perk expansions] on each map. (I can't hyperlink until I have 1 reputation
)
I recently found your mod and it's full of excellent modifications but there are a few things I'd like to try and change for my own experience.
I understand there's no config for your mod's changes (and that implementing it would be a lot of unnecessary work) but I was wondering if it's even possible to change / remove your mods solo Easter egg changes (starting with all the Guillotine parts on Buried for example) without breaking other aspects of the mod.
If it is possible, would you mind sharing where I would have to look to learn how to work on BO2 mods myself?
Thank you very much for your hard work creating this, I absolutely love the changes on TranZit (again aside from the EE stuff) and many of the other maps.

CircuitWP Anything is possible, just not adding those.

SegmentWolf You would have to find where I changed that within the source, I don't know off the top of my head.
I would say my mod is a great place to look to learn how to work on BO2 mods yourself.

Jbleezy,
I like your mod and think that it greatly improves upon vanilla blops 2, and I think this is the best mod for BO2 zombies and should definitely be in the spotlight more, but I have a few criticisms and ideas to make this closer to the more definitive blops 2 experience. Now this is mostly my taste as the mod is your taste, but I think features you removed such as perma perks, perk limit, and the automatic equipping of parts should be features you can turn on or off in the custom games or in the settings with the rest of the features and I'll explain why.
Perma perks were an interesting feature for BO2 that you earned for doing a specific task. They were really unique and complex, and honestly not too overpowered since they could also be lost just as easy as you gained them. Now I'm not entirely empty without permaperks, since many players probably didn't notice or care too much about them and I favor BO1 better, but I think it should've stayed in the game as a togglable feature at least, and if you were totally down for it you could try and reimagine them if that wouldn't be too much of a hassle. That way you could try and fix any problems you have with them.
And the perk limit was something I think should've definitely been a togglable feature. The perk limit kept the games balanced, and while it meant most people chose the same perks, I don't think that would apply to your mod since you've added a lot more perks than normal to all maps, which would make people have to choose strategically what perks to use. Buying all perks on the map does reward you with the feeling of accomplishment, but it's also just way too easy. If you got Tombstone or Who's Who, especially since you've reworked them to be better, you basically never lose any of your perks. So if the perk limit was kept as a togglable feature you'd cater to both the casual players and the experienced players who want a better challenge.
Another thing is parts being automatically given to you at the start of each map, this is something I thought was just way too forgiving, and completely gets rid of the exploration of all maps. Sure, it goes in TranZit's favor, but then again the buildings in TranZit are still kinda useless even when you give all the parts to players. I think what you should've done, is incorporate what MOTD and Origins did onto the Victis maps so that there is more of a consistency with the maps and have the buildings be more useful by making them last way longer and count toward kills and give you like 25 or 50 points per kill. Which would make all the time searching for the parts worth it. Having all the parts being handed to you, is in my opinion just cheap and way too forgiving like the removal of the perk limit. And this might be too far, but maybe even the option to repair broken builds like the shield and all other devices which break after 30 seconds. Instead of them breaking, maybe they should be disabled until you can fix them by gathering tools from the table you built them at.
As it is right now, there are no 'reward' factors or anything to work towards other than completing an easter egg or getting 100k to end the game. The perma perks were rewarded to players who did good enough to earn them, and can be lost just as easily. The perk limit encouraged critical thinking when deciding what perks to buy. And searching for parts to build is way better than just magically having all parts you need at spawn, in my opinion.
Your mod is really great, and it has improved a lot over vanilla by fixing a lot of things and adding QoL improvements. Being able to complete the EE's with any amount of people is always appreciated and I like how you've pretty much made the steps less annoying and whatnot. But that's all I got to say right now, as I've already talked too much. Overall I think there's a lot more you can do with this obviously and I look forward to seeing greater changes and a difficulty rebalance. You've made a refreshing blops 2 experience, and it can only get better with the right decisions.
Addition: Still waiting for the day that the cut DLC 5 makes it's way onto this game. Having all the WaW and BO1 maps (except CotD for some reason) would've made BO2 zombies the perfect zombies. And I hope that if it were possible one day, you would have it in your mod.
