ChosenUndead Reshade can be used maliciously since it can be exploited by players who want to cheat. Many games already disallow Reshade because of this. Even if Plutonium updates the anticheat, it will only slow down cheat developers. Just like AAA game companies that spend thousands of dollars on anticheat, it will eventually get bypassed. It will always be an endless cat and mouse chase, but manual bans are the most effective way. Make sure to report properly for which ever server you choose to play on.

Miaa_ Nobody is entitled to the source code either. It's their project and they spent a long time working on it. It's better to keep it in their hands than to have somebody make multiple clones of it with no credit and add a paywall. This has happened many times over the years and still occurs. The Cod Community is notorious for this kind of behavior.

While the average PC user won't see your IP and will only see the VPN address, an experienced malicious user can find a way to expose the real IP because ports are open, causing a vulnerability. I'm just letting you know that using a VPN is not foolproof due to this, so it's up to you. Malicious players attack servers just to troll and for fun most of the time.

You can host servers with OpenVPN or any VPN that supports P2P and port forwarding, but make sure you use a configuration that supports P2P, as ports are required to host servers. The only problem is that there is still a way to see your actual IP since your ports are open through the VPN. The best choice is to pay for a VPS instead and host with that. It doesn't use your connection and can run 24/7.

Using Reshade can trigger the anti-cheat system, and it's possible to cheat with it. Some players will always find ways to misuse it, even though Reshade enhances visuals. In fact, some other games have also banned Reshade due to its potential for abuse

JezuzLizard While the built in compiler is great, compiled GSC should be allowed as an option. Many old mods from the past are compiled, and not all of them are open source or 1:1 when decompiled. This is good for preservation.

It's a server-related issue. Some servers have already fixed it. Do you remember when Black Ops 1 first came out for PC and consoles? There were no servers for zombies at all. Black Ops 2 had a similar problem, but it was eventually fixed for servers.

I highly doubt there will be a client for Overwatch anytime soon, especially on Plutonium. Plus, Blizzard owns Overwatch, and they wouldn't approve of it with microtransactions in the game. It's best to look elsewhere if someone else wants to risk a cease and desist (C&D).

WaW servers are not dead, it's remains very active for zombie. For multiplayer, the most active times are usually on the weekends. If you're looking for more players, consider reaching out to others, although keep in mind that some prefer to play other games on Plutonium, with Black Ops 2 being the most populated choice.

@p0rk Connection interruptions are not only related to latency. If your PC is low-end, or if you have your FPS set too high for what your PC can handle, you will experience constant connection interruptions. It's always best to set your FPS at a stable level rather than an unstable one that fluctuates. Some people max it out or leave it unlimited, which almost always results in in-game lag if the PC can not handle it.

oldgunner Mr. Einstein, servers are community-hosted. How about getting a job and then hosting your own server with your own rules, etc.? Don't think you're entitled to anything when this client was provided for free, and most of the server owners pay for their servers. Be appreciative that this client exists for us. We have enough entitled kids in this community already.

Even Triple A companies that invest thousands of dollars in anti-cheat services have already experienced bypasses. It's not possible for any anti-cheat system to be foolproof because it's an endless cat-and-mouse chase. Each time the anti-cheat is bypassed, developers need to discover how it was done and then patch it. It's an ongoing game of cat and mouse, but eventually, these cheaters' methods will be patched out. Manual bans are the most effective way to combat these cheaters.
