On a more serious note, server owners can ban you for literally any and no reason at all. It is their server after all.

Doesn't really count, they have hundreds of servers just for NAT hole punching, we don't have that luxury.

Xfinity definitely has caused issues in the past with its "xFi Advanced Security".

Something you could try is to host a server (with a server key) and check with wireshark if you get any incoming queries.
